Barcelona Olympic Museum: Admission Ticket

Discover the history of sport and relive the excitement of the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games at the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum. This interactive museum invites adults and children to learn about, experience and enjoy a wide range of sports.

Through exhibitions, historical objects, audiovisual content and interactive simulators, you will explore the development of both Olympic and non-Olympic sports. The museum covers football, basketball, motorsports, motorcycling, skiing, cycling, canoeing, baseball, chess and tennis, among many other disciplines.

Test your abilities on the climbing wall, measure your vertical jump or take on the Batak challenge. You can also compare your skills with those of leading athletes, discover how Michael Phelps and Mark Spitz swam or see how much weight champion weightlifters can lift.

The Barcelona 92 exhibition lets you relive some of the most memorable moments from the Olympic Games, including the ceremonies, symbols and iconic mascots Cobi and Petra.

In the Idols Space, you will find objects, memorabilia and stories connected to sporting legends such as Michael Jordan, Pau Gasol, Carl Lewis, Steffi Graf and Franz Beckenbauer. The museum also houses the Samaranch Collection, dedicated to the history of the Olympic movement.

Adapted sport also plays an important role in the museum, with displays about goalball and other sports practised by people with disabilities.

  • Children under 7 receive free admission when accompanied by an adult. This does not apply to groups.

  • The museum is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

  • Some activities, simulators and interactive spaces may be subject to availability, maintenance or usage restrictions.

  • From October to March, the museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm.

  • From April to September, it is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and on Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm.

  • The museum is closed on Mondays and on 1 January, 1 May and 25 and 26 December.

  • Admission is free on 12 February, 18 May, 24 September and the first Sunday of every month.

  • Opening hours, exhibitions and free-admission days are subject to change.

  • Restaurant and cafeteria services are not included in the ticket and are subject to their own opening hours and availability.
